Kirkos

the past being kept alive in the future

Circus, Circle

Kirkos has always existed. A circus, a nomadic band, a gang, with a circle of tradition and ritual reaching into the future and stretching far back through the past. Always outsiders, weaving webs from smoke, slicing inside at precious moments and slipping off into the darkness. No echo. A singular quest for god found solidly, clearly, within the depth of earth, person and events. Here lies the tearing of flesh that unites man and god unto nature. As the shadow of the hawk crosses your path- "Nothing can be taken for granted. Nothing is as it was."

Kirkos was our second world premiere play by Company member Michael Sokoloff. Michael has directed, acted and choreographed movement and violence throughout the world. National Pastime Theater is very fortunate to have his influence and direction within our fold, as his bold, aggressive and physical stance enhances and solidifies our own. Michael Sokoloff's Kirkos is truly an event.
